Jewelry Design Education and Jewelry Design Competion Project
Nurturing young Burmese jewelry design talent.
Introduction Video
The Project
Treasured will be conducting the project over the course of one week in Mae Sot, on the border of Thailand and Burma. The week will start with the students gaining a basic background of jewelry design and how it relates to their Burmese culture. This will be followed by a few days of practical exercises and exploration. On the last day with the full class we will hold a little design competition and wrap party for the children.
The winning design(s) will be created, and sales will go back to benefit the New Blood School in perpetuity!
A huge thank you to Krainz Creations for your generous donation to sponsor this project, which will be the first of many to provide hope, inspiration, and access to resources and opportunity to those in gem producing regions of the world where these things are otherwise unavailable.
Krainz Creations is one of the leading high jewellery creators in the world. Check out some of their beautiful jewelry here!
New Blood School
In the third quarter of of 2023 Treasured International will be conducting its maiden project. We will be traveling back to the Thai border town of Mae Sot to work with the New Blood School in support of Burmese refugees.
Mae Sot borders Myanmar and is a main thoroughfare for not only Burmese gemstones, but for many Burmese refugees. For more than 20 years the New Blood School has been support to this community, surviving mostly on donations and volunteer support.
