  • Tammy Tresor (GG, BSc(Bio))

    Tammy Tresor is an experienced jewelry designer and gemologist based in Laguna Beach. She holds a Bachelor of Science in the Field of Biology and is an alumna of the Gemological Institute of America and New Approach School for Jewelers. She is on the board of the Jewelry Industry Summit, and has experience working in many facets of the industry, including as a buyer, manufacturer, retailer, and wholesaler of both gems and jewelry. She has a lifetime of experience in the industry as a fourth generation jeweler, and founded her own custom design jewelry business, The Jewel Princess in 2015. She is trained in jewelry design, goldsmithing, engraving, and as an appraiser. She has a passion for education, and over ten years of experience as a teacher, specializing in the subjects of upper level math and sciences, SAT, and homeschooling. Tammy is an avid content creator spanning multiple platforms with a focus on bringing to light the behind the scenes stories of the gem and jewelry trade and furthering industry education.

  • Charles Lawson (BSc (Geo), FGA, FGAA)

    Charles Lawson, Director of Lawson Gems and Responsible Gemstone Traders, is an experienced geologist and gemmologist based in Brisbane, Australia. Charles holds a Bachelor of Science in the Field of Geology and is an Alumnus of the GIA (Gemological Institute of America), Gem-A (Gemmological Association of Great Britain) and is also an alumnus and former committee member of the GAA (Gemmological Association of Australia). With over 15 years in the trade he has worked in almost all facets of the industry from exploration geology, to jewellery manufacturing to gemstone trading with many years of field experience throughout South and East Africa, Asia and Australia and he is also an experienced gem cutter. Over the last 7 years he has conducted numerous projects in Africa within the mining industry on behalf of bodies such as Tiffany & Co., the Gemstone and Sustainable Development Knowledge Hub and the Australian and German governments. These have focused on local empowerment, sustainability and gender equality. Charles now also specializes also in education and filmmaking within gemmology with the aim of bringing a better understanding of the gemstone industry to the world at large. Through such work over the last 11 years he is now a specialist in the field of social media marketing within the niche of coloured gems, boasting one of the most successful gemmology channels on YouTube.
